Soul Memory (1): The Contradiction of Effort

inside a nest of boxes ‣魂:Soul

Alice was playing herself to suit others in order to make them love her.

I suggested to Alice that she stop acting….

She said, “I hate effort, but I feel like you think effort is a virtue.”

To Alice who says such a thing, I tell her that effort is wrong.

Because effort is something you do to love yourself, not something you do to be loved by others.

Alice then said, “Maybe so…. Maybe the mirror was a reflection of what I was acting. When acting became the norm and I said goodbye to my real self, before I knew it, no one was there. And maybe there were no real things or anything left, just the world of what I was acting out.”

Alice herself had realized that there was nothing real about what she had been acting out.

So I said to her, “You don’t have to act anymore. There is nothing wrong with Alice as she is.

Then all the mirrors surrounding Alice cracked at once and fell.

And out of the mirror came a cage made of iron bars from a circus.

When Alice saw the cage, she said, “I didn’t notice anything until now. I didn’t know this was happening!”

Then, out of nowhere, a voice came from a different space.
